Frequently Asked Questions
How do the pictures work? Each debt gets a pixel picture. Every tile is an equal share of what you owed when you added it, so when a quarter of the balance is gone, a quarter of the tiles are colored in. The last tile waits for the last cent. If the balance goes up (new charges or interest you update from a statement), tiles un-color to match.
How is my debt-free date worked out? Each month the plan adds interest to every debt, pays every minimum, and puts the rest of your monthly budget toward one debt at a time. When a debt is paid off, the money that was going to it rolls to the next one. The date assumes your rates, minimums, and budget stay the same; it is an estimate, not a promise from your lender.
Snowball or avalanche?Snowball pays the smallest balance first, so you finish a debt sooner and keep your momentum. Avalanche pays the highest interest rate first, which costs the least interest overall. The Plan tab shows both side by side for your own debts. With Pro you can also choose your own order.
Why did part of my payment go to interest? When you log a payment, the app first counts the interest your debt has built up since its balance was last updated (using its interest rate and the number of days), and the rest comes off the balance. That's how lenders work too. Lenders count interest slightly differently, so every so often tap Update on the debt and enter the balance from your statement or the lender's app.
How do pay-later plans work?Choose "Pay later" and enter each payment, how many are left, how often they come (weekly, every 2 weeks, or monthly), and the next due date. The plan schedules every installment, and each payment you log moves the next due date along. Pay-in-4 plans are usually 0% interest; monthly plans can charge interest, so enter the rate if yours does.
I made a mistake logging a payment.Open the debt and tap Undo last in its History. It puts the balance back exactly as it was. You can undo the most recent change on each debt, one at a time.
How do reminders work?Turn on Payment reminders in Settings and choose the same day, the day before, or 3 days before. You'll get a notification at 9am with the amount your plan suggests. If you tell the app when you get paid (Settings → Your why & payday), you'll also get a nudge on payday to pay your plan first. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; if you don't get them, check that notifications are allowed for the app in iPhone Settings.
How do I share my progress?Tap Share on the Home screen (or after paying something off or reaching a milestone). You get a story-sized picture for TikTok or Instagram: "Day 87 of my debt-free journey" with your pictures and how much is colored in. Amounts are hidden unless you turn them on.
What are milestones? When 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 90% of everything you owed is gone, the app celebrates. Each one shows once.
What does Pro include?Unlimited debts (the free version tracks 5 at a time), 16 more pictures, your own payoff order, intro and 0% promotional rates that end on a date, and exporting your payment history. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
I bought Pro on another device.Open Settings → Restore purchase (or tap Restore purchase on the Pro screen) while signed in to the same Apple Account.
Will I lose my data?Your debts and history are saved on your iPhone, and a private copy is kept in your own iCloud (when iCloud is on). If you reinstall the app or set up a new iPhone with the same Apple Account, your plan comes back by itself. We never see it.
Does the app connect to my bank? No. There is no bank login, no account, no ads, and no tracking. You type in your numbers and they stay on your phone. See our Privacy Policy for details.
